North Carolina Education Lottery

Congratulations to Ronald Atteberry of Spencer North Carolina won $1 million dollar prize with a $10 scratch-off ticket and won a $1 million prize. Keep a lookout for the 50X lottery tickets. Mr. Atteberry bought his lucky 50X The Cash ticket from Murphy Express on Freeland Drive in Salisbury, North Carolina. When you win big like this you’ll have to visit the official lottery office to claim your winnings. When Mr. Atteberry arrived at the lottery headquarters he had a choice of picking his prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. He chose the lump-sum amount of $600,000 and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $425,012.

The 50X The Cash game debuted in February with eight top prizes of $1 million. Five $1 million prizes remain to be claimed. Ticket sales from scratch-off games make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $900 million per year for education. Experts tell us that we should not rush to claim your money. Once you catch your breath, give yourself time to prepare mentally and physically for what comes next. Should you share the good news on social media with friends and family regarding your winnings? Absolutely not! Put your ticket somewhere safe and write down instructions just in case something happens to you. Winning a boatload of money is overwhelming and can get stressful if you don’t plan accordingly. If your winnings is the first million you have ever seen, it’s important to interview attorneys, financial experts and what direction you want your life to go.
