Americans are traveling again with COVID cases going down, but nearly every airline is scrambling to fill their cockpits.

Business Insider reports that the problems right now include not enough new pilots moving from smaller regional airlines to the major carriers and too few pilots exiting the military.

The lack of pilots is leading to flight cancellations and delays. So how are airlines dealing? United and American Airlines are opting for buses. They’re hiring them to replace planes on shorter routes.
