More and more states have been legalizing marijuana, and it sounds like most Americans are all for it.

A new YouGov survey finds:

  • 52% of Americans say they’ve tried marijuana.
  • 43% say they’ve used it in the past year, with 72% of those people using it in the past month.
  • Of those who use marijuana, 49% say they typically use it less than once a year, while 27% use it at least once a week.
  • Overall, smoking is the most common method of consuming marijuana (66%), followed by:
    • Edibles (40%)
    • Vaping/dabbing (27%)
    • Ingestible concentrates/extracts (18%)
    • Topical body products (17%)
    • Cooking ingredients/condiments (11%)
  • 66% of Americans who have used marijuana have had a very or somewhat positive experience.
  • Only 27% say their experience was very or somewhat negative.

As for legalization:

  • 60% of Americans support the legalization of marijuana.
  • That includes 72% of Democrats, 60% of Independents but only 46% of Republicans.
  • Most Americans do, however, think their should be age restrictions to the legalization.
  • 42% think the legal age to buy marijuana should be 21.
  • 36% think it should be 18%
  • 2% think there should be no age limit.

Finally, it’s pretty apparent that most Americans think Marijuana is pretty safe.
