2 North Carolina Universities Receive $4 Million In Funding From Lowes

Tuesday, Mooresville-based Lowe's announced $4 million in funding to benefit two North Carolina Universities. The home improvement giant will be providing the money to both Queen's University and N.C. Central University.

Lowe’s is providing $2.5 million to Charlotte's Queen's University. That money will go towards the new Charlotte Talent Initiative. Charlotte Talent Initiative was established to help low-income graduates of local high schools. The program is a partnership with Mecklenburg County.

Additionally, Durham's N.C. Central University in Durham, is a $1.5 million gift from Lowe’s. The money will benefit NCCU's School of Business. Lowe’s name will be placed on the auditorium at the business school.
