Workers at a Starbucks in the coffeehouse chain's hometown are now union members.
CBS news reports that the National Labor Relations Board announced yesterday that employees at a Seattle Starbucks voted unanimously to unionize. The store is just a mile from the flagship location where Starbucks launched 50 years ago.
It will be the seventh in the nation where workers will be members of Workers United. Employees at five Starbucks in Buffalo, New York and one in Mesa, Arizona have also voted to unionize. Workers at more than 150 stores in 27 states have petitioned to unionize.
