Selena Gomez announced she is teaming up with producers from her Hulu show ‘Only Murder in the Building’ for a new project. It'll be a take on the sitcom form of John Hughes’s 1984 rom-com classic "Sixteen Candles."

The show will be titled "15 candles" and the story follows four young Latina girls as they start high school. Teen Vogue says the new series will give a “comedic spin” to the original 80's movie where Molly Ringwald plays a 16-year-old whose family forgets her birthday.

The series description states the series will focus on the girls “As they overcome their feelings of invisibility while exploring what it means to leave childhood behind through the lens of the traditional female coming-of-age rite: the quinceañera.”

No word on casting or a release date, but it will stream exclusively on Peacock. Selena Gomez will be the executive producer. Previously, she produced 13 Reasons Why, Selena + Chef, and Only Murders in the Building.
