NEW YORK, NEW YORK – MARCH 08: Gas prices are displayed at a Brooklyn gas station on March 08, 2022 in New York City. Gas prices are at record highs around the country as the Russian invasion of Ukraine causes global oil markets to surge. American President Joe Biden announced a ban on Russian oil imports into America.

Kingdom City Church is funding a self-described “massive” $10,000 gas giveaway this Saturday. The free gas event is called "Gas On God" and will take place Saturday at the Mobil Gas Station at 3814 Brookshire Blvd in Charlotte.
The event runs from 11 am-1 pm and those participating should line up on North Linwood Avenue. There will be signs on the street pointing towards to gas station. Church leaders said the ‘GAS ON GOD’ event will take place on March 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mobile Gas Station at 3814 Brookshire Blvd.
The church plans to give away $10,000 worth of free gas to the Charlotte community. According to an article by Queen City News drivers will receive a full tank of fuel along with a prayer and encouragement and shopping gift cards. What a wonderful thing that will hopefully make this difficult financial time a little easier for those who truly need it.
With gas prices skyrocketing and expected to continue to rise due to the conflict in Ukraine, you may be rushing to fill up your tank. But if you want to save as much as you can, you may be wondering who has the cheapest gas in Charlotte. All of these prices are as of Tuesday morning (March 8th) and are from GasBuddy. It's no surprise that a quick trip over into South Carolina will get you the cheapest prices around so several make this list.
You can find some prices around $3.70 a gallon, which in the current climate of +$4 isn't too bad. There is no need to panic buy at this point, but maybe just swing by the pump while you're out and about this weekend. Among the largest producers in the world, Russia produces 17 percent of the world's natural gas and 12 percent of its oil. In addition, much of Russia's natural gas exports to Europe flow through pipelines in Ukraine. So don't expect those prices to last long. Oh, how I miss when gas prices used to start with a 1. Maybe one day we will see that again, we can only hope.
But for now, check out the cheapest gas prices in Charlotte.
