Are you sick of scrolling TikTok and finding an interesting storytime video, only to discover it’s made up of several parts and you have to go and search out the rest of it? Well, that soon may be a thing of the past.

TechCrunch reports that the platform will soon expand the length of its longest videos from three minutes, to 10 minutes. The newly expanded video ups the site’s battle with competitor YouTube, which launched their “Shorts” feature last year.

“Today, we’re excited to start rolling out the ability to upload videos that are up to 10 minutes,” a spokesperson said, adding more time will “unleash even more creative possibilities for our creators around the world.”

This is the second time increase in less than a year. Back in July, they expanded videos from one minute to three.

Response to the TikTok news has been mixed on social media. “just make a youtube channel. why do we need 10-minute videos on TikTok,” one person noted, while another commented, “so apparently you can upload 10-minute videos to TikTok now. does that not… completely go against the point of TikTok?”
