17-year-old Caleb Kennedy of Roebuck, South Carolina has been charged after he drove into a building while drunk. One man, Larry Duane Parris, 54, who was inside the building at the time it was hit was pronounced dead at the hospital 3 hours after the crash.
The S.C. teen has been charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death.
PEOPLE says the crash occurred on February 8th at around 12:42pm in Spartanburg, SC. South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway confirmed that “A 2011 Ford pickup was traveling north on W. Murph Road when the vehicle traveled onto a private drive at 269 W. Murph Road and struck a building.” Trooper Ridgeway says the crash remains “under investigation”, while Kennedy currently sits behind bars.
