New Dine-In Movie Theater Opening In Charlotte

NELIGH, NE – SEPTEMBER 28: Dillon Smith gets popcorn for customers in the concession stand at the TK/Starlite Drive-In Theater on September 28, 2013 in Neligh, Nebraska. The theater, which opened in 1952, is one of only two drive-in theaters left in Nebraska, a state that once had almost 50. At the peak of their popularity in the late 1950s there were between 4 and 5 thousand drive-in theaters in the United States, there are now only about 350. As movie studios begin to phase out distribution of 35mm film prints in favor of digital media, the high cost drive-in theaters face when switching to a digital projection system is expected to force more of these theaters to close. While popcorn is always a must at movie theaters, in more recent years, movie theaters have grown to offer more than just the usual concessions. Some theaters offer a full menu of food and beverages, and that only makes the experience that much better.
Theaters have had quite a rough time throughout the pandemic, but things looks like they might finally be turning around.
According to Yahoo News, Cinergy Entertainment Group, just announced they will be opening a location in Charlotte. The new theater will offer in-theater dining options, luxury recliner chairs, and a full bar! You can order your food online, and the auditorium staff will bring what you order to your seat. Additionally, their bar will offer your regular beer and wine options, as well as some craft cocktails.
Movie theater's like this are my absolute favorite because it makes the whole thing so much more of an event!
The new theater isn't set to open until Spring this year, and it will be located in the Prosperity Village Shopping Center.
Hopefully the pandemic will be slowing down by this point too, and the theater will have no problem filling those seats.
