Pfizer Touts Success Of COVID Treatment Pill
Pfizer says updated results for its experimental COVID-19 treatment cut the risk of hospitalization or death by almost 90-percent.
According to NBC News, Pfizer announced today that, if given to high-risk adults within a few days of their first symptoms, the pills lower the risk of hospitalization or death by 89-percent.
Pfizer hopes it can eventually make the pills available for people to take at home before they get so sick they need to go to the hospital. The success of the pill was confirmed in phase three clinical trials.
Paxlovid, was 89-percent effective at preventing high-risk people from being hospitalized or dying from Covid, the company said.
