Six Festive Drinks You Can Easily Make This Holiday Season

Mulled Gin and Moscow Mules are festive favorites that will please everyone at your Christmas party. Wren Kitchens has revealed their top six festive favorites which are sure to get the party started during the short holiday season.

I enjoy entertaining my holiday guests with new recipes. I’ve compiled a list of delicious and historically significant seasonal drinks. In the 1940s, the famous Moscow Mule cocktail was created in the United States. Aside from Eggnog, other popular cocktails on the list are from the UK.

It’s easy to see why these cocktails have been a favorite for decades. All of these recipes are super easy to make in your own kitchen, and they’re packed with flavor. • 1. Mulled Gin

  400ml gin 1 litre apple juice 1tsp runny honey 1 cinnamon stick 4 juniper berries 2 cloves 2 cardamom pods, lightly crushed Lemon and pear slices and bay leaves for garnish - Divide the gin between eight heatproof glass mugs. - Pour the apple juice into a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients. Heat until simmering, then strain the mixture into a jug. - Pour the mixture into the glasses with the gin and stir gently. - Using the lemon or pear slices and bay leaves, garnish the glass and serve.

• 3. Christmas Mimosa Punch

  Champagne (or lemonade for a mocktail) 2 cups of orange pineapple juice 2 cups of cranberry juice 2 Granny apples 175g pomegranate seeds 120g fresh cranberries 3 limes, sliced 100g green grapes, halved Rosemary - Combine the juices and fruits in a large pitcher or bowl. - When ready to pour yourself a mimosa, put a sprig of fresh rosemary in your flute. - Fill your champagne flute halfway with champagne or lemonade, and using a ladle, pour in the juice mixture from the punch bowl.
• 4. Snowball Cocktail

  50ml advocaat 50ml sparkling lemonade 15ml lime juice Ice and a cherry, to serve - Fill a glass with ice and add 15ml of lime juice. - Pour the advocaat and lemonade over the ice and stir until the glass feels cold. - Top with a cherry and serve.

• 5. Moscow Mule

  50ml Vodka 150ml ginger beer Fresh lime Crushed ice Sprig of mint and a wedge of lime to serve - In a fancy glass of choice, pour in the vodka and load the glass ¾ full of crushed ice. - Fill the glass to the top with ginger beer and stir. - Squeeze lime over the top of the glass and serve with a sprig of mint.

• 6. Apple Fizz Mocktail

  50ml cloudy apple juice 50ml lemonade 1 ½ tsp cinnamon Sprig of mint 1 apple, sliced - In a tall glass with ice and a slice of apple, mix the cloudy apple juice, lemonade, and cinnamon - Serve with a sprig of mint

  Why not spend the morning or afternoon exercising and enjoying some ice skating? Charlotte has multiple places you can ice skate. The USWWC has an outdoor rink that opens November 11th and there is also an outdoor ice rink in Rock Hill. In addition, there is a great indoor rink in Pineville with open skate times and an indoor bar for breaks.
• 4. Go to a Charlotte Hornets Game

  Enter the swarm and take yourself to see at least one Hornet’s game this year. In the winter, you can enjoy a seat in the hive while watching some talented basketballers shoot some hoops and enjoying classic stadium concessions all in the comfort of the stands. It's warm and cozy and so much fun! A Hornets game is a memorable and exciting experience for all ages, regardless of whether basketball is your thing.

  I love the movies. Now that they are back open, you can keep warm and be entertained by heading to one of our many Charlotte movie theaters.

  There are two Charlotte locations for Top Golf. During winter, Topgolf's heated, climate-controlled bays are the perfect place to warm up. I've done this before and I loved it! There are drinks, golf, and snacks to enjoy.
