Couple Sends Out “Not Engaged” Announcements

According to Newsweek,  one couple found the perfect way to silence that dreaded question, “When are you getting married?” Brooks Ribeiro and his girlfriend of three and a half years, Lauren Hutchinson, decided to confirm to their loved ones that they’re not saying “I do” anytime soon by sending out “not engaged cards.”

The long-term lovebirds posed for photos in traditional engagement poses, but put their own spin on them. In one, he’s holding up an empty ring box, in another, she shows off her bare ring finger, and in another, they hold a sign that reads, “She said not yet.” Brooks and Lauren shared them to their Instagram accounts and also used them for the card they sent out that shares the news “We are ecstatic to announce that we are not engaged!”

“No date needs to be saved,” the card explains. “Please, go about your life as you normally would, until further notice.” The non-groom reveals more details in a “LIFE UPDATE” on his Instagram.
