Dozens of Massachusetts state troopers are resigning in the face of the state’s COVID vaccine mandate.

Under the policy, all executive department employees have to show proof of vaccination by October 17th. The state police union says about 20-percent of employees are not vaccinated.

Republican Governor Charlie Baker said Monday he has no intention to rescind the mandate. Last week, a judge denied a request from the State Police union to put a hold on Baker’s vaccine mandate for troopers.

Baker says since the troopers deal heavily with the public, they should be vaccinated.
