Archaeologists are reeling after the discovery of a partially mummified skeleton with hair and bones intact.

The official Twitter account for the Archaeological Park of Pompeii shared photos of the discovery Tuesday. The partially mummified skeleton is said to be a former slave in Italy.

It’s been described as one of the "best-preserved skeletons" to ever be found in the ancient city of Pompeii. The mummified remains were found in an ancient tomb in the necropolis of Porta Sarno, east of the ancient urban center of Pompeii.

The size of the tomb suggests the former slave was successful after being freed.
