If you hate getting on the treadmill to burn calories, there may be a way to do it that’s way more fun.

A new study suggests video gamers could burn up a lot of calories playing their favorite games. The study, by Game platform Stakester, claims that two hours of gaming burned about 420 calories in men and 472 calories in women. Just how good is that? Well, apparently that’s the same amount of calories you’d burn doing 1,000 sit-ups.

So, what could actually be causing this calorie burn? Well, it could be the increased heart rate gamers get as well as “gaming sweat(s)” although Skatester CEO and founder Tom Fairey, admits he’s “surprised” by the actual numbers.
