Weird facts are always for me. It’s August 17th people and I’m ready to get weird with you. Just like the days before and the ones to come, the history is weird, a little scary and we’ve got a list of them for you to enjoy.

Knowing major historical events is crucial to understanding how we live today. Seeing what happened in the past intrigues me. You might think I’m weird, but I find history fascinating because of the weird and scary things that happen. Here are 5 of the weirdest and scariest facts for August 17th.

• It’s Lil Pumps Birthday

  Gucci Gang...Gucci Gang...that's right people. Today is the one and only Lil Pump's 21st Birthday. Good Lord. It was in 2017 that Lil Pump's debut album was released, which was titled eponymously and featured the song "Gucci Gang." The song "Welcome to the Party" was featured in the movie Deadpool 2 which made his rise to fame skyrocket. Happy Birthday...I'm sure you'll enjoy your "first" legal drink.

• Hit Once…Hit Twice!

  Poor lady. This is a really strange story but if you love baseball, you might already know about it. On August 17th, 1957 baseball player Richie Ashburn fouls and then hit a fan by the name of Alice Roth twice in the same game! He hit her once while at bat playing for the Philadelphia Phillies and then once while she was on the stretcher. The 1st hit broke her nose and the 2nd one...well just hit her. That's some terrible luck.

• Phil Collins and Orianne Cevey

  On August 17th, 2008 Genesis drummer and vocalist Phil Collins divorced Swiss-born Orianne Cevey. This was Phil's third marriage and it ended after only six years of marriage.
• It’s National Thrift Store Day

  It might be my favorite holiday today. It is National Thrift Shop Day! Macklemore said it best, "I'm gonna pop some tags, only got twenty dollars in my pocket!" Sorry I had to do it.

• Gondola Gone Wrong

  On August 17, 2013, a fifty-year-old German man was crushed to death while in a gondola in the Grand Canal of Venice, Italy. The gondola crashed into a water bus. The man along with his wife and three children were on the gondola.
