If you didn’t know our friends in Shelby, NC are playing host this week to the American Legion Baseball World Series. Today is day 2 of action with two games taking place.

Game 5 – 4:00 p.m. EST – Fargo, ND vs. Tupelo, MS

Game 6 – 7:00 p.m. EST – Ridge, MD vs. Honolulu, HI

Today is also Salute to Academic Achievement Day at the World Series. The colors will be posted by the Junior ROTC Unit of Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Friday and Saturday under the direction of Colonel Jeffrey Gaylord, USA (ret.).

You have two options to watch the games. The first is to download the American Legion Baseball App. The app, available through the Apple Store and Google Play, provides regional and World Series schedules, pairings, scores, stats, photos, and weather, as well as news and headlines. Some games will also be broadcast on ESPN3.

This year marks the 10th anniversary that Shelby, NC has hosted the American Legion World Series, which began in 1926.
