TikToker Shares Video Of Mom Interrupting To Stop His Proposal
Some moms like to meddle in their kids’ lives, but according to The Independent UK, one mother interrupting her son as he’s about to propose has left TikTok users upset over the cringe-worthy incident. Dan, aka @catdaddan on TikTok, posted the clip of the moment he was about to pop the question to his girlfriend in a scenic spot, with the caption, “To the girl, I was going to propose to, but my mom put a stop to it … ”
In the video, we see Dan standing next to his girlfriend, and he shows that he’s got the ring in his pocket. They’re smiling and posing and she stands up on a ledge as he appears prepared to get down on one knee. But just at that moment, the voice of his mom can be heard yelling, “Danny, no! Get down from there. No!” Dan writes that his dad was recording and “didn’t know what to do, so he just kept recording.”
The clip of the near-proposal has more than 9.4-million views on TikTok and hundreds of commenters have shared their discomfort over the awkward scenario. “I hope this is a joke,” one user shares, while another post, “Lucky girl, she dodged a bullet.” But in a follow-up video, Dan reveals that his boo isn’t “too lucky” because they got engaged later. “So I didn’t propose at that moment, for obvious reasons,” he explains, adding that they took their engagement photos at the exact same spot “to commemorate the moment.”
