To say that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s time in the “Fast & Furious” family is completely over seems to be an understatement. LauRen from The Maney, Roy & LauRen Morning Show mentioned one morning during the Hollywood Dirty there was no love lost between him and Vin Diesel when they did the eighth installment in 2016.
More recently, Vin attempted to explain what happened between them by saying that they had different views on how the Hobbs character should be played. The way he saw it, the character needed to be separated from The Rock’s persona – which he described as a matter of “tough love.”
As far as The Rock is concerned, Vin’s comments were laughable. “I laughed and I laughed hard,” he said in a recent interview. “I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well. I wish them well on ‘Fast 9.’ And I wish them the best of luck on ‘Fast 10’ and ‘Fast 11’ and the rest of the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies they do that will be without me.”
