What in the world is going on in North Carolina?! First, we had a wild Cobra Snake. Then, we had Wolf-Hybrid Dogs on the loose. Now, we had a young black bear chilling in a tree. Raleigh, you are wild.

A young black bear decided to spend his lovely Tuesday up a tree outside Rex Hospital in Raleigh. This male black bear was around one-one 1/2 years old according to the Wildlife Management Division and residents weren’t quite sure how he got up in the tree.

In order to get him down, North Carolina Wildlife Commission said it used jelly doughnuts and sardines to lure the bear out of the tree early Wednesday morning. Once the bear came down, it quickly ran off and is no longer a threat to the public.

The bear’s adventure in the city was an innocent mistake, according to Wildlife Management Division Chief Brad Howard. He said the bear was likely wandering around Monday night into Tuesday morning. Then when the sun rose and he saw all the people in the area, he scampered up a tree for safety.
