A new report by PrettyLittleThings revealed each state's favorite reality TV show. The report unveils that the nation as a whole has a soft spot for dating shows, with the most popular being Married at First Sight, especially in the states of Arkansas, Delaware, and Maryland. I have to admit, I love this show. Charlotte actually did a season and it was epic. I highly recommend it.

The report also showed that property shows stand out too. People love watching Selling Sunset and House Hunters. Surprisingly, Dr. Pimple Popper also appears a few times on the state map, proving popular in states such as Iowa and North Dakota.

Americans also love adventure and survival shows. Showing up multiple times on the list was Survivor, the castaway-style reality show that is one of America’s most popular, especially in Massachusetts and Missouri. We like drama too because I noticed Intervention and Hoarders are reality TV show favorites in multiple states.

The report also reveals the Top 9 lowest-rated reality shows. With an IMDB score of just 3.2, The Bachelor is officially the worst-rated reality show in the U.S. making it the show we love to hate. This is followed closely by The Bachelorette in second place with an IMDB score of 3.4, while third place is filled by Bridezillas with a rating of 3.8 suggesting that romance-based reality shows are the guilty pleasures of America.

The Real Housewives features three times in the Top 9 worst rated shows, with Real Housewives of New Jersey ranking fourth with an IMDB score of 4, Real Housewives of Orange County ranking eighth with an IMDB score of 4.2, and Real Housewives of Atlanta ranking ninth with an IMDB score of 4.3. Other low scorers that are ranked as the worst reality shows include American Idol (4.1), Yummy Mummies (4.1), and Million Dollar Beach House (4.1).

The methodology behind this project was simple. To calculate PrettyLittleThings used the highest and lowest-rated reality tv shows calculated using IMDB ratings. They also used the worst and best episodes calculated using IMDB ratings for every episode of the shows. For the state rankings, they were calculated using search volumes for each show in every state, sourced by SEMRush. The least and most popular shows with women and men were determined using IMDB ratings filtered into ratings by men and by women. The shortest and longest shows to binge-watch were measured using running times listed on IMDB. Reality stars making the most from cameo calculated using cost per video for each star on Cameo, multiplied by 2,000 to estimate projected earnings.
