Amblin Partners, a production company led by Steven Spielberg, has announced a multi-film deal with Netflix.
The deal involves producing multiple films per year. This means we could be seeing a lot more work done by Steven Spielberg on Netflix very very soon!
The two companies have already collaborated on several movies. The most recent include “The Trial of the Chicago 7” and “Maestro” starring Bradley Cooper.
Of the deal, Speilberg said, “This new avenue for our films, alongside the stories we continue to tell with our longtime family at Universal and our other partners, will be incredibly fulfilling for me personally since we get to embark on it together with Ted, and I can’t wait to get started with him, Scott, and the entire Netflix team.”
Ted is Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-CEO and chief content officer. He was quoted saying, “We cannot wait to get to work with the Amblin team and we are honored and thrilled to be part of this chapter of Steven’s cinematic history.”
And Scott is Scott Stuber, Netflix’s head of global film. He gave a statement also: “We look forward to working with Steven, Jeff and the entire Amblin family on a new slate of films that will delight generations for years to come.”
Amblin’s next film is West Side Story, coming out in December.
