Anyone else noticed how hard it is to get a Lyft or Uber these days?

This past weekend, my friends and I looked to get an Uber to a restaurant about 2 miles away, and not only was it a 20 minute wait, but it was also crazy expensive; $20 to go 2 miles. Needless to say, we walked.

I've definitely noticed for a few weeks that ride share apps have increased their prices, and their availability.

There has been a huge increase in demand as Charlotte, and the rest of the US return to normal after the Coronavirus pandemic. The problem is, even though there is an increased demand, the amount of drivers who feel comfortable driving strangers around remains low.

Uber and Lyft have been vocal about how they are trying to recruit new drivers; Uber even saying it will invest $250 million dollars to recruit new drivers.

For now though, you may have to plan some extra time into your schedule if you are planning to take a ride share app anywhere.
