The Wells Fargo Cup took place in Charlotte this past weekend, and one particular moment caused quite the social media stir.

Sunday afternoon, social media was all abuzz after a mysterious water creature poked out of the pond at Quail Hallow Club.

Amy Tilson was able to capture the moment on her TV Screen, as the creature quickly pops out of the water at Hole 17.  Tilson posted the photo on the internet with the caption, “Can someone please tell me what’s coming out of the water on the 17th at the Wells Fargo Championship,” and that’s all it took!

Tons of people responded with what they thought the water creature could be.

Rest easy though, The director of Communications for the Wells Fargo Championship says that the creature that popped out of the water Sunday afternoon was most likely a catfish with a fin.

Either way, it made watching gold a little more interesting, that’s for sure!
