Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families are releasing data stating that the unemployment rate for veterans ages 18-24 nearly doubled from 7.5% in February 2021 to 15.1% in March 2021. Our Veterans don’t want a hand out as they suffer from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, aka PTSD, an anxiety disorder that follows experiencing a traumatic event, that our Troops are most likely to experience when coming back to their homes. There are programs to help our Veterans with that include: disability compensation, educational programs, job training, counseling, Veteran’s pension programs, housing and home loan guarantees, and more.
