The mom-to-be gave birth mid-flight when the plane was over the Pacific Ocean and the dramatic event was captured and shared by a TikToker.
Julia Hansen was on board that Delta flight and posted a video of the experience that has since gone viral with more than 9.2-million views. The video begins with her whispering, “A baby was just born on this plane,” and then cuts to an announcement of the birth and passengers cheering and applauding. It also includes footage of a crew member on the intercom asking passengers to remain seated “for just a few moments to allow a passenger to seek medical assistance.”
The flight ended three hours later, according to Hansen. Her video also shows EMTs boarding the plane to help the mom and newborn get off before the other passengers. As she’s wheeled off in a wheelchair, passengers clap and congratulate her and Hansen is careful not to show either of their faces. She also shares that both mom and baby were perfectly healthy when they got off the plane.
