It should come as no surprise that football is America's favorite sport. A new study by TopUSCasinos.com ranked football as the most popular sport in America.

The study took into account Google search data and the "number of positive social media sentiments" for the top sports in each state. Sports considered were football, baseball, basketball, boxing, golf, ice hockey, NASCAR, soccer, tennis, and WWE.

Football ranked number one overall with 1/3 of Americans voting it as their favorite sport. Basketball came in second place overall but first in North Carolina. This isn't surprising since college basketball is a religion for a lot of people here!

Third place goes to golf which won Arizona,  Connecticut, Maine, Pennsylvania (don't tell the Steelers and Eagles!), and Vermont.

I have to say that Alabama not picking football SHOCKED me. Most of the others are believable, however.
