When you’re a server, you do everything you can to avoid spilling anything on your customers, but accidents will happen. And when they do, the last thing a server expects is a big tip, but that’s exactly what a woman named Chloe got after a mishap while serving at a wedding. She took to TikTok to share the story of the embarrassing mishap and the surprise she got afterwards.

In a video that’s gone viral with more than a million views, Chloe says she was a waitress at a wedding reception where she spilled an entire boat of gravy down the front of a woman’s dress. It got everywhere and of course, it was piping hot, but thankfully, it didn’t burn her. She says she was beside herself because she felt like she “ruined the wedding” and she burst into tears, but instead of getting the side eye from the bride, she was actually rewarded.

It turns out, the woman who got gravy dumped on her was the groom’s mother, but the bride didn’t mind. In fact, she came over to Chloe and shook her hand and thanked her afterward! The server recalls, “She said ‘my mother-in-law should not have been wearing white to my wedding!’” And then the bride handed her a $100 tip!
