Former North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory has thrown his name into the running to replace Senator Richard Burr in the U.S. Senate in the 2022 election. Senator Burr has already announced that he did not have any plans of running for reelection.

Pat McCrory served as NC governor from 2013-2017.

Before serving one term as governor, McCrory served as Charlotte mayor for more than a decade.
