Bride Wears Wedding Dress To Get Vaccine After Canceling Wedding Twice
A Baltimore bride who never got to wear her wedding reception dress found the perfect occasion to finally pull it out of the closet – when she got her COVID vaccine. Sarah Studley had been planning a big wedding for fall 2020 and reception to go with it, but the pandemic had other plans. She and her fiancé Brian Horlor still got married in a micro-ceremony with just eight people and were planning to have a large reception this summer, but scrapped that over concerns the event couldn’t be held safely.
So when the 39-year-old was getting ready to go get her shot, she decided to get dressed up for the occasion. “I had this dress in my closet and I figured, ‘This seems like a good moment for celebration.’” The white tulle and satin gown definitely turned heads at the M&T Bank Stadium vaccination site, but most people seemed delighted by her fashion choice.
Studley says lots of people asked about her dress, including people working at the site. “Everyone seemed really happy about it,” she says. “This is a moment for me to seize the celebration and seize a little joy in what has been a dark period.”
