“Worst Date Ever” Ends With Woman In River Rescuing Tinder Date’s Dog
A socially-distanced walk with her Tinder date ended up with a woman in the U.K. jumping into a river to save his drowning dog in what she calls the “worst date ever.” Lizzy Johnson matched with the man and suggested they go on a stroll with his boxer dog and it was off to a fine start until the dog decided to test the water.
Johnson says her date started freaking out when his pup took the plunge, panicking as he told her, “Oh my God, my dog’s never been in water before.” While he stood there trying to decide what to do, the mom of two jumped into action by jumping in the river. She was wearing heeled boots and jeans and she was soaked when she got out, but luckily, the dog was fine and she was, too.
Sounds like it could be the cute start to a love story, right? But Johnson had no such luck and felt no sparks. She says she didn’t like the dude, which was actually a relief to her. “Thank God I didn’t like him, I would have been horrified if I did,” she explains. “He looked like Shaggy from “Scooby-Doo” – he had the same haircut. The 37-year-old says she’s not interested in any more socially-distanced dates and she’s holding out until she can be taken out for a nice glass of wine on a proper date.
