A northeast Iowa teacher is charged with assault after being accused of biting a student on the arm.
A criminal complaint claims Anita Smith with the Starmont School District in Arlington grabbed a student’s arm and bit down last week. The bite caused a red mark and some bruising, leaving teeth marks, according to the filing.
Smith claims she was role-playing, but no one’s biting. She’s on administrative leave while the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office investigates.
