When it’s your wedding, you get to make the call on what you serve your guests, but one bride’s menu choices have stirred up family drama with her brand-new in-laws. In a post to Reddit’s “Am I the A-hole” section, she explains that she wanted her favorite foods at her wedding - lemon chicken and lemon cake. So she put them on the menu, despite knowing that her mother-in-law “HATES lemon” and “can’t even put it in her mouth without gagging.”

She writes that she didn’t want her husband’s mother to starve, so she came up with a budget-friendly alternative for her - her favorite fast food meal, a cheesesteak from Jersey Mike’s Subs, and a box of M&Ms. The bride says her MIL gave her a “weird look, but she ate it.” and then the drama started when her new father-in-law called her out over the food. He was “furious,” told her she is “selfish” and that she “disrespected him and his wife.” He said she wasted his money and even called her a b**ch on her wedding day.

Now he’s demanding an apology and the bride isn’t sure if she did anything wrong, so she turned to Reddit to find out. And users were not on her side with this. One user writes, “It was extremely rude and tacky to serve a nice meal and dessert for every guest except one.” And another comments, “Singling MIL out with a sandwich? OMG,” adding that the bride came off “looking petty and childish.”
