Get paid to take a vacation.
That’s what a small town in California is offering. Santa Maria is near the coast, not far from Santa Barbara. It’s known for barbecue, wineries, beaches, and hiking trails. And now that the state’s stay-at-home order is over, the town wants to lure tourists back.
So it’s offering a 100-dollar Visa gift card to use toward a minimum two-night hotel stay. The offer is good for reservations starting Thursday through March 31st. Though the Santa Maria Valley offer is certainly enticing, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials do not recommend domestic travel amid the pandemic.
