A Disney World ticket booker helped to save a Pennsylvania woman from her abuser after they spoke on the phone. The agent taking theme park reservations heard the caller yell “get away from me!” and “get off me” and knew something was wrong. She asked the woman if she was calling to book a trip and she said “no,” then she asked if the woman needed help and she said she did, so the Disney worker called the local police.

The Northern York County Regional Police Department headed to the woman’s home and she told them she was fighting with her boyfriend, that he had choked her and she feared for her life. Records show the man was charged with strangulation, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, and simple assault.

Law enforcement officials discourage people from trying to get help through a third party because it could be misinterpreted, but this time? The woman’s call to Disney may have saved her life.
