Can you believe it has been almost a year since the coronavirus pandemic seemingly shut down America?

Who would have thought last March, when we went on lockdown, that there would still be restrictions in January of 2021? But here we are, and I think it is safe to say that the past year has been one of the most stressful years in recent history.

Many people deal with stress with food; it’s one of my personal favorite coping mechanisms. But according to retailer e-conolight, these are the most popular comfort foods that got us through the past year.

  1. Grilled Cheese
  2. Fried Chicken
  3. Chicken and Waffles
  4. Chili
  5. Pot Roast
  6. Baked Potato Soup
  7. Chicken and Dumplings
  8. Chicken Noodle Soup
  9. Mashed Potatoes
  10. Strawberry Shortcake
  11. Stuffing

When it comes to NC, chicken and waffles were the top searched comfort food, while South Carolina searched shrimp and grits the most.
