We are approaching our one-year "quarantineversary." If you've been watching the North Carolina press conferences, or even just the news every so often then there is a face and name you've probably seen before: Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen. She is the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary. To honor her efforts, Durham Mayor Steve Schewel awarded her a key to the city at a virtual ceremony last night. According to a press release, not only will she receive the key to the city but Schewel will also proclaim January 19, 2021 "Secretary Mandy Cohen Day" in Durham.
