One of those was always Nova's Bakery. It's right on Central Ave in the heart of Plaza Midwood, and you can always smell the delicious smells of the corner shop that always has people going in and out of it.
A lot of places have decided to close their doors for good in 2020 due to the struggles of the current pandemic we're facing. Sladjana Novakovic, the co-owner of Nova's Bakery, says the closing of the store is a ripple effect. According to Spectrum Local News, Sladjana moved from Serbia to America with her husband in the 1990s in hopes to make a better life for her family. She decided to open a bakery since baking was something she knew well and was good at.
When talking about the ripple effect of closing the store, she compared it to her having three kids and the bakery, saying that the bakery is like having a kid...at some point, you have to let it go.
The bakery will officially close on December 13th, so make your way to Plaza Midwood to enjoy the bakery while you can!
