Halloween is going to be a little different this year, but one thing that will stay the same? Parents will be sneaking candy from their kids. Most moms and dads have taken treats for themselves from their little one’s plastic jack-o’-lantern and it’s become its own little holiday tradition for them. But do they admit to their sticky fingers? A survey of 2-thousand parents finds 44% don’t say anything and just hope their kids won’t notice, 43% pretend the sweets magically disappeared on their own and 41% tell their kids they had to take some so they could “inspect” it for safety.
But this year, there’s a new incentive for fessing up. Butterfinger is giving away $25-thousand to one lucky winner who confesses to their candy swiping crime. All you have to do is “turn yourself in” by November 6th in a digital confession to the Butterfinger Investigators – aka the BFI – to enter.
The pros? You’ll still get to swipe some of your kids’ tasty treats, plus your funny video confession could get you a few seconds of Halloween Internet fame. And the con? You’ll have to admit that you’re the candy-sneaking thief. But if it wins you $25-thousand, it’s totally worth it.
