The MRL Morning Show

Weekdays 6:00AM-9:00AM

We all have days when we feel like we’re running on autopilot or just not winning at the parenting game, just ask Emily Massingill. The Texas mom of two is sharing her recent mom mistake and it has the Internet laughing with her. “If you’re feeling like a bad mom today, don’t worry,” she writes in a now-viral Facebook post. “I fed these Skittles to my kids for a solid month not realizing there is one Skittle in there that tastes like rotting flesh or 54 dirty diapers in the garbage.”

It turns out, this mama had picked up Zombie Skittles, thinking they were just Halloween-themed. But these aren’t just the regular fruity candies kids know and love, they have gross “rotten” flavors mixed in for fun. And when Massingill’s kids started to complain about the treats, she told them “to eat them or they wouldn’t get any more candy ever again if they’re gonna be ungrateful.”

So the kids tried to eat them a few times over a few weeks and it wasn’t until Massingill’s sister came over and explained what Zombie Skittles are that she knew why they didn’t like them. This mom says she felt bad at first, but had a good laugh over her mix-up. And when the candy company heard about it, they stepped up to help. “Skittles reached out to me and is sending us some normal Skittles,” she explains. “So everyone can stop worrying about my poor neglected kids with the bad Skittles.”
