Thanks to Covid-19, up to 50-thousand airline workers could wake up to find they’re out of a job.
The furloughs are expected on what’s being called “terrible Thursday” after Congress failed to vote on a coronavirus relief bill. American Airlines was the first to confirm it’s letting 19-thousand people go. United followed with 13-thousand. At least four other Airlines could be next. Delta is delaying action until November 1st, in hopes a deal will be reached to save jobs.
The White House said yesterday, they are proposing relief money for airlines. the only good news? If airlines do get that money, they’ll recall workers.
