RODEO, CA – AUGUST 19: A construction worker works on the framing of a new home August 19, 2003 in Rodeo, California. New home construction jumped in July to its highest level in 17 years as the hot housing market showed no signs of slowing despite the fact that mortgage rates have risen more than a percentage point over the same period. Habitat for Humanity has just started building a dream home for a woman here in the Queen City but a special team is behind this one. A crew of all women is hard at work getting the walls up on the new house for Deborah Adams.

She’s never owned a house before, so she’s excited to get to move in when construction is complete in four to five months.

This isn’t the first all-female team Habitat has used, they’ve actually done an all-women build for 29 consecutive years now. But this year, the pandemic has brought extra challenges. Project manager Anna Davis explains they don’t have the same labor force they normally do, but she says “I have faith in these guys.”
