My friends and I all joke about our "FBI agents" watching us on our phones. We've all experienced that weird phenomenon where your talking about something, and the next time you open your phone... BOOM, there it is!

I know my phone is tracking me, but I guess I never really thought about how much it was tracking me... until now.

This past weekend, I was browsing Netflix and came across a new documentary. I love documentaries, so it was an easy decision for me to click play.

It's called, The Social Dilemma.

The documentary shows that we need to be extra careful while using social media, and how all of our apps are watching us, more than we know. It explains how apps collect our information, and that too much time scrolling through them can be harmful, especially for mental health. But probably the craziest part for me was how they explained how social media has contributed a great deal to the spread of misinformation.

And they had some BIG names in the documentary too; developers, and designers from some of the biggest sites like Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, warn us about the negative parts of the systems they helped build.

Here's the trailer:

Needless to say, this documentary will definitely have you looking at your phone in a completely different way!

Hi, I'm Cameron! I was born and raised in North Carolina. I'm a super tall redhead who is always down for tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas. Okay, so Mexican food is my personal favorite, but I’m not saying no if you’re trying to eat out on the town anywhere. I I am on air for middays but also the Program Director for Kiss 95.1. I enjoy connecting with Kiss 95.1’s amazing listeners and being able to bring all of my favorite things like food, wine, and life online into digital content.
