It's hard to believe that the summer is officially over. This has definitely been a much different Summer. Coronavirus has effectively shut most things down since March.

One thing people have been doing a lot more of this year though; going to the lake.

Lake Norman lake patrol officers say this has been Lake Norman's busiest summer in years. Although the beach access to the lake has been closed all summer, more than the usual amount of people have been boating. This has also caused the water to be choppier than usual, too.

It makes sense; on a boat, you can maintain enough space to be socially distant from others, while still being able to get out of the house for a bit.

Lake Patrol says to be careful though; increased traffic means more room for accidents, and recommends that everyone wear a life jacket.

Have you been to Lake Norman this summer?

Hi, I'm Cameron! I was born and raised in North Carolina. I'm a super tall redhead who is always down for tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas. Okay, so Mexican food is my personal favorite, but I’m not saying no if you’re trying to eat out on the town anywhere. I I am on air for middays but also the Program Director for Kiss 95.1. I enjoy connecting with Kiss 95.1’s amazing listeners and being able to bring all of my favorite things like food, wine, and life online into digital content.
