Energy is a valuable resource, especially in our bodies. When we have energy, there seems to be no limit to what we can accomplish. Many things throughout the day can drain us and we need a little something to pick us and give us a much needed second wind. Just because the world slowed down doesn’t mean we can.
So how can we replenish our bodies naturally? How about a smoothie? Not only do they aid in digestion and enhance immunity, but they also boost brainpower, curb sleep disorders, and fight depression. The list of benefits goes on and on. Food can be a form of preventative care. If you put the right stuff in, great things can come from you. So here I’d like to share one of my favorite energy-boosting smoothie recipes that happens to taste like an afternoon in paradise. It’s delicious, it doesn’t require much prep, and best of all it really works!
Strawberry Mango Sweetheart
• 1 cup of frozen strawberries
• 1 cup of frozen mango
• 1 cup of orange juice
• 3 cups of spinach
• ½ cup of almond milk, or the milk of your choice.
That’s all you need! Blend it and enjoy this liquid “get up and go.” Feel free to get creative and customize the recipe to your particular tastes.
