This Company Will Pay For You To Adopt A Pet

Working at The Zebra comes with some pretty sweet perks. The insurance comparison site recently added a new benefit for workers: paying them to adopt pets. They’re now “covering expenses up to $300 annually for employees welcoming a new cat or dog.”

And even better? The Zebra is also offering staff members a “pawternity” leave - as in time off to get to know their new rescue pet!

One employee who’s already taking advantage of this new perk is Maribeliz Ortiz, who recently adopted Niko, a long-haired miniature dachshund - and her life-long “dream dog.” “I’m not ready to have a child any time soon," she explains. “But it feels really nice to be supported by my company to help start a family in the way I can right now.”
