A new survey released by the Trevor Project reveals that one in four LGBTQ youth, ages 13 to 24, use nonbinary pronouns, meaning pronouns other than he/him or she/hers. What’s more, 5% say they use they/them exclusively.
The survey also notes that 75% of those who don’t use such gender binary pronouns prefer to use a combo of he/him, she/her and they/them. And there are also 4% who use what are called “neopronouns,” such as ze/zir, xe/xim and fae/faer.
