It's been a couple of years in the making,  but Amazon has announced it is hiring for its massive distribution center in Garner, North Carolina with plans to create more than 1,000 jobs than initially expected.

That means the jobs coming to the Carolinas went from 2,000 to 3,000!

The facility is 640,000 square feet and will pack and ship products to customers across the region from household goods to electronics.

The new position will start at $15 per hour plus benefits starting on day one of employment. That means you will get health care, 401k with a 50% match and up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave.

These job opportunities come at a great time when unemployment and financial struggles have been impacting the state due to COVID-19.
