Two vehicles reportedly crash into Cape Fear River off I-95 South near Fayetteville according to a report filed on Thursday, June 9th, 2020. First responders searched the river for hours Thursday night, but sadly did not find anything.
Today, dive teams resumed a search for at least two vehicles that witnesses said crashed into each other and ended up in the river. It is said that a least one vehicle went over a barrier at the site of the reported crash and plunged into the river according to Police reports. The call came in around 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The State Highway Patrol is asking for anyone with information to contact the Troop B Communications Center at *HP (47) or the Cumberland County SHP office at (910) 486-1334. I hope they find the cars and everyone finds peace soon enough with this tragedy. You can watch the search live here.
